| PET HATE Definitions: i. (UK) (idiomatic - somebody's pet hate) Something that you particularly dislike. ii. Something that annoys you a lot. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. No benefit or advantage in the thing disliked. 2. You will not be able to avoid or prevent the thing. 3. There will be no desire to destroy or damage the thing. 4. A 'staying power' or persistence will be shown by the annoyance. 5. Visible reaction (frown, worrying, etc.) or uttered response (rebuke, condemnation, etc.) will confirm the existence of dislike. 6.
