| PERSIFLAGE Definitions: i. A light-hearted and bantering speech, writing, etc. ii. (formal) Comments and jokes in which people laugh at each other in a fairly unkind but not serious way. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary, for the speaker, writer, etc. 2. Delivered in person, with a byline (where applicable). 3. The utterance, writing, etc. will be fit-for-purpose. That is, an event, etc. will be appropriate for not-so-serious or jocular piece. 4. Addresses an earlier issue or demands a reply or an answer to some current matter raised in presentation (to emphasize, see definition). 5. Audience will be in right frames of mind to see the fun. 6.
