| PENFRIEND Definition: (British English) A person that you make friends with by writing letters, often somebody you have never met. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary to have. 2. Letters exchanged will be detailed, descriptive, interesting. 3. Nothing considered offensive or belittling will be in missives. 4. Replies will be timely written and sent or posted. 5. There will be no insistence, in letters, for both persons to meet. 6. Contents of letters will not lead to unplanned loss for 'friend' -no demand for expenses, no requests for financial favours, no encouraging an illegality, etc., etc. That is, 'friend' will not be unreasonable or selfish. 7. A demand or request to stop communicating via letter - to stop or suspend friendship - will be honoured or respected by the other. 8.
