PECKING ORDER (1)

Definitions:

i. (idiomatic - a/the pecking order) (informal, often humorous) The order of importance in relation to one another among the members of a group.

ii. The pecking order of a group is the way that the positions people have are arranged according to their status or power within the group.

1. Purposeful to have an (the) arrangement in place.

2. Considered a necessity for group to have an (the) order.

3. Importance (= status or power) was legitimately acquired.

4. Output, handiwork, productivity, etc. can justify standing. That is, the members' qualification, abilities, etc. can be well defended.

5. Superiors or betters are respected, honoured and 'obeyed', rightly.

6. Order can be altered, if and when the (prevailing) circumstances of a member or set of members change for some good or for the worse.

7. No accords, alliances, connivance, etc. can be brought into play.

8. Succession, promotion, relegation, etc. procedures are in place.

9. Order brings gain, benefit, advantage, etc. to all the members. That is, arrangement will achieve objective(s), as exactly hoped for.
