| PARTY LINE Definitions: i. The official opinions of a political party, which members are expected to support. ii. The party line on a particular issue is the official view taken by a political party, which its members are expected to support. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered necessary, as will be decided by the appropriate party organ(s) (to emphasize). 2. Does not clearly contradict manifesto or policy of association. 3. Definite and conclusive. That is, view will be understandable for party members and not need to be further explained or clarified with additional press release, during a convention, etc. 4. Must be very distinct or different from the view of another party. 5. Not patently unlawful or immoral, even if it will be vote-catching. 6.
