| PARADE GROUND Definition: A place where soldiers gather to march or to be inspected by an officer or an important visitor. _____________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (see definition). 2. Place is of the right dimensions. That is, ground is small or big enough for the number of soldiers expected at the parade. ___________________________________ NEAT OR UNTIDY SOLDIERS. | ||

In other words, standing position or march is not made unexciting or unbearable by the nature or ground - not saturated or soggy or slippery, as applicable. __________________________________ WELL-BUILT OR CONSTRUCTED. further below the line 5. Ground has appropriate, visible markings for the soldiers to know positions to be in, especially during march. ___________________________________ SLOW AND/OR IN OPEN ORDERS. 6. Ground has covering(s) for VIP and/or guests (= spectators): not for the soldiers! ___________________________________ QUICK AND/OR IN CLOSE ORDERS. 7. Ground has a dais for important visitor, reviewing officer, etc. And where necessary, has the other equipment or logistics necessary to make parade ground 'functional'. ___________________________________ IN BARRACKS OR OPERATIONAL AREA OR TRAINING SCHOOL OR ... . |
