| OVERKILL (1) Definition: (disapproving) Too much of something that reduces the effect it has. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Never truly desired, planned, predicted or intended. 2. Not usually possible to stop or prevent, once maximum level or stage is reached. That is, the momentum cannot be halted, once 'killing' starts. 3. No awareness before impact is felt. That is, end result of a thing being too much, will not be suspected during process leading to lessening. 4. Situation cannot be rectified or the loss(es) incurred recouped. 5. Disadvantage, ineffectiveness, etc. will arise from situation. 6. Realization that excess of thing was not deliberate will not permit a sanction to be meted out to the person, if any, that is responsible. 7.
