OPEN CHEQUE

Definition: (British) A cheque which has not been crossed and is payable to the bearer.

1. Purposeful and necessary to write and leave cheque 'open'.

2. On being presented for cashing (or payment), attracts no banker's remarks such as: drawer’s attention required; insufficient funds; irregular signature, etc.
