| ONE-PARENT FAMILY Definition: (disapproving) A family in which the children live with one parent rather than two. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. 'Absentee' parent is alive and well; hale and hearty. 3. (Reserved.) (Arrangement is acceptable to both parties. That is, no permanent irreconcilable differences between both parents.) 4. Visits or visitations by 'want out' (?) parent, to and from his or her children, will be regular and beneficial. 5. Major decisions concerning the children's education, health, etc., will be taken by custodial parent only after consultation with the other parent. 6. Children will not be made the issue or turned the scapegoats for parents decision to live apart. And kids will not be made to dislike the absent dad/mum, thereby holding him/her responsible for situation. 7. Arrangement will not foreclose the possibility of a reconciliation with former spouse, or of the 'loner' having a discreet romantic relationship, or of a remarriage, where desired. 8. Children brought up by 'super dad' or 'super mum' will not turn out as dysfunctional or disgruntled teenagers or adults in the future. 9.
