| OLD WIVES' TALE Definitions: i. A traditional belief especially one which is incorrect. ii. (US) A superstitious notion without any scientific foundation. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements would be in. 1. Origin or foundation of falsehood cannot be traced. And it will make recognition or realization of incorrectness difficult and it will unlikely that someone will dispel lie or apologise for story. 2. An attempt will usually be made by professor or holder of belief to try to provide an evidence or a proof of its veracity. 3. Belief can not be tested or tried. That is, it will not be possible to perform an 'experiment' to verify claims (to emphasize). 4. A repercussion or consequence of not believing story will be invented and/or told to enhance or aid its viability. 5. Acceptance, compliance, agreement, etc., as applicable, with the acclaimed details of story will be a waste of time and bring no real gain or benefit, even as this fact will not be believed. ________________ * DISCARD IT ! | |
