1. Things (= ideas, statements or beliefs) go, in your opinion, against the grain of popular or conventional wisdom (MAKES NO SENSE).

2. Ideas, statements and beliefs have no basic supporting evidence or proof to make them to be taken seriously (NO BASIS, IMPRACTICAL).

3. Things are repulsive to the senses, whether of sight or hearing or smell or taste or touch (SAD, DISAPPOINTING).

4. There is no use or usefulness in ideas, statements or beliefs, except for citing as examples of rubbish! (USELESS, TRASH).

5. Things are distractions or disturbances or nuisances to your plans and aspirations; clearly arrant (UNNECESSARY, NEEDLESS).

6. Ideas, statements or beliefs have undeserved prominence. That is, things occupy valuable 'space'. Or they are begging for attention (SEEMINGLY TEMPORARILY 'BRIGHT').

7. Things are exposed as jokes or lies in the long run, whether they are disregarded or paid some attention (GOOD RIDDANCE).
