| NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION Definition: An organization which is not run by the government. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Organizers have purposes and consider establishment a necessity. 2. Registered and legally recognized as an independent organization. 3. Its aims and objectives will be lofty and ideal. And these will be pursued within the bounds of the law. 4. Its organizational structure and administration will be efficient. 5. Fulfils and performs legal, corporate and social responsibility as a social movement. 6. Not in competition with the authorities while its programs will be complementary to that of the government. And will cooperate with other similar organizations to serve the public good: capable of demanding transparency and able to engender better and/or equal opportunities for all. 7. Its promoters will not enrich themselves from organization. That is, will be in a position to hold authorities and governments to account. 8. Owners or founders of organization will not use its platform to launch and/or pursue a political career, whether or not profit-making. 9.
