| NON-EVENT Definition: (informal) An event that was expected to be interesting, exciting and popular but is in fact very disappointing. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Not anticipated to fail (see definition, to emphasize). 2. Preparation was detailed and complete in anticipation of success, whether the event was promoted or not (connect to #1). 3. Attendance was sure. That is, arrival was early, and duration and attentiveness at event venue was right, complete and excellent. 4. Performance, program, etc. were the expected ones; the right persons/characters and activities planned, etc., were what they showed or presented or did at event venue. 5. Viewers have the capacity to appreciate and understand what is being done or performed. 6. Performance was far below expectation: a disgraceful show. 7. There was a loss for the attendees, of time, resources, effort, etc. 8. No apology (or refund!) was made for trash presented. _______________________ ... NOT A NO-SHOW.
