| NINE ONE ONE CALL Definition: (usually - 911 call) (informal) A call that you make in the United States, by dialling the number 911, in order to contact the emergency services. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful - not a prank and not a crank's ! PANIC ! 2. Considered a necessity - not some time-waster. WHAT? 3. Made timely, clearly, and gets through at once - not frustrating. WHICH? 4. Promptly responded to - not misleading by way of direction, etc. CRISIS !! 5. Never directly paid for by caller - not cause of a financial loss. HOW ? (WHY?) 6. Recorded by the service concerned - not a trivial or non-issue. WHEN? 7. Achieves objective(s) or serves purpose(s). (Connect to #8.) HELP !! 8. Caller learns a lesson from the cause of 'mishap' or gets a better understanding from the way a situation would be handled or problem solved by the police department or fire brigade or ambulance service.
