| NEWS-GATHERER Definition: A person who does research on news items, especially on the ones that will be broadcast on television or printed in a newspaper. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to do research. 2. Commits no illegality while sourcing for information or news (connect to #3). 3. Does not get into trouble by taking unnecessary risks in the course of activities. 4. Gets to the core, origin or root of the information, or gets as close as possible to the source. 5. What is gathered is useful or usable - whether whole or incomplete. 6. Submits whatever is gathered timely. 7. Does not express an opinion on, or add anything to, the news collected (to emphasize). 8. (Reserved.)
