| NERVOUS BREAKDOWN Definition: A period of mental illness in which somebody becomes very depressed, anxious and tired and cannot deal with normal life. ______________________________________________________________________ * All twelve elements would be in. 1. Purposeful (?) (connect to #12). 2. Approach of breakdown is seen, even if not recognized. That is, cause of breakdown is or will be known or traceable. 3. Efforts will be made or are being made to resist or avoid possibility (connect to #2). 4. Person involved in situation is alone for the most part - even when there are people physically with him or her. Or person resists all attempts by others to intervene in the situation. 5. No self-harm or injury to self occurs during period of illness. 6. Medication or treatment is available as a cure for the illness. And sufferer is attended to by a qualified medical professional. 7. Nothing reasonable is attempted or accomplished this period. 8. State is 'deadened' for the sufferer at this time - no fear or bother, worry or panic; no 'care in the world'. 9. Losses will occur for sufferer during the period of illness, whether these can be recouped, are recouped or are irrecoverable. 10. Illness lasts for a period considered 'okay' (connect to #7 & #9). 11. Person will return to normal, healthy condition after cure is obtained/achieved. 12.
