| NEGOTIATING TABLE Definitions: i. (usually - the negotiating table) (used mainly in newspapers) A formal discussion to try and reach an agreement. ii. If you say that people are at the negotiating table, you mean that they are having discussions in order to settle a dispute or reach an agreement. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six or seven elements, as applicable, should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the conveners and attenders. 2. All the stakeholders will be invited and will honour invitation. That is, discussion session(s) will have full members in attendance. 3. The administration in place - seating arrangement, code of conduct, agenda or programme, format of 'debate', rules and regulations, etc. - to guide deliberations will be acceptable to all. 4. Talks will be no-holds-barred, without 'no-nos', would commence timely and should be concluded or completed promptly. 5. The mediator(s), if any, do not undermine efforts. That is, the proceedings will gain popularity as discussions progress. 6. Consensus, conclusion(s), agreement(s), etc. will be arrived at in line with the guiding principles of discussions. 7. Decisions will be respected and honoured by all the participants and/or signatories to communique, memorandum of understanding, etc. That is, talks will serve purpose(s) or achieve objective(s). _______________________________ .>.> YOU'RE INVITED.
