| NEAR MISS (1) Definition: A situation when a serious accident or a disaster very nearly happens. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Not expected or suspected that situation would occur, as everything right was seemingly in place before then. 2. A lot had been invested to ensure that all was correct in the build-up to just before the time that disaster almost happened. 3. What caused situation is known or can be found out. 4. 'Disappointment' causes some worry, anxiety, embarrassment, etc. 5. Blame is apportioned (where applicable), for error and/or an adjustment or readjustment, if necessary and possible, is effected. 6.
