| NATURAL CHILDBIRTH Definition: A method of giving birth to a baby in which the woman chooses not to take drugs and does special exercises to make her relaxed. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful - even if only the woman knows. 2. Decision is of the woman's own freewill, based on advice, experience, belief, etc. 3. Choice is not as result of poverty, religiosity, medical difficulty, etc. (connect to #2). 4. The labour is not excessively prolonged. 5. No injury is sustained by woman (= mother) in the course of performing relaxation exercises, supervised or not. 6. Baby is born very healthy, in spite of refusal to take drugs by pregnant woman. 7.
