| NATIONHOOD Definition: A country's nationhood is its status as a nation. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to have or secure particular status. 2. Legal and recognized by the international community (= UNO). 3. Independence will be true. That is, nation is not a client state. 4. Not greatly indebted to neighbours or blocks to threaten her state. 5. The people will have a willingness to defend or advance its causes. 6. It will not have to colonize or occupy another sovereign state. 7. All its leaders and the majority of the people will be patriotic. 8. The ability to negotiate or renegotiate oneness will be possessed. 9. There will be no insurgency, militancy, etc. by rebels, invaders and separatists within or across its boundaries or borders. 10.
