Definitions:

i. (British English, disapproving) The fact of helping and protecting somebody too much.

ii. (disapproving) (mainly British) If you refer to activities such as helping and advising people as nannying, you disapprove of these activities because you think that they are protecting people too much.

2. Those being helped and advised have the onus to try to achieve on their own and to discover options or decide course of action to take.

3. A law, rule or regulation, custom or tradition, etc. will not be flouted or disobeyed or discarded in the course of activities.

4. People benefiting from 'mothering' did not really seriously request or earnestly ask or demand the protective measures offered.

5. Activities involved take place at the earliest possible time, before real effort will be attempted by the recipients of assistance.

6. No complaints, protests, rejection, condemnation, etc. will take place concerning the 'unsolicited' help or advice given and received.
