| MYSTERY SHOPPING Definition: The activity of visiting or telephoning a shop/store or other business pretending to be a customer, in order to get information on the quality of the service, the facilities, etc. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Right shop/store, or phone number, as directed or authorized. 3. Access to every part of shop/store is available. And/or conversation has no no-go areas. 4. Arrival or timing of call is appropriate, to help achieve goal(s). 5. Adequate period of time is available to conduct business. 6. No unplanned loss will be suffered by shop/store, employer, employee, service provider, etc. as a result of activities. 7. The desired information will be obtained. 8. No illegality or crime will be committed in shop/store or in the course of telephone conversation. 9. No disclosure of purpose during 'shopping'. That is, question as to whether customer is a mystery shopper will not be answered; no lying or telling a half-truth! 'Customer' keeps mute or quiet! 10.
