i. (idiomatic - mutton dressed as lamb) (British English, informal, disapproving) Used to describe a woman who is trying to look younger than she really is, especially by wearing clothes that are designed for younger people.

ii. (mutton dressed as lamb) (UK, informal) An older woman who wears clothes that would be more suitable for a young woman.

1. She is believed to have a purpose and thinks style necessary. That is, she will be assumed to be normal and in the right frame of mind.

2. The clothes will cover all the 'vulnerable'. That is, her stretch marks, sagging boobs, excess flab, etc., as applicable, are hidden.

3. Her poise, gait or steps, mannerisms, etc. while dressed in the fashionable style will not give away a telltale sign of her real age.

4. Clothing or dress that she has on will be very clean and neat. And will be owned, not borrowed or worn without the owner's authorization.

5. Achieves goal(s) of decision to look younger - gets wolf whistles or gets wooed, enhances her self-worth, feels self-confident, etc.

6. Will not be caught doing what a younger woman would do. That is, does not compete with daughter(s), if any, and/or behave childishly.

7. Able to admit - not declare her age ! - that she's older, quickly change the clothes, etc. to escape from a 'slaughterhouse' (= danger).
