| MULTITASKING (2) Definition: The ability to do several things at the same time. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (to emphasize). 2. Considered a necessity to do 'all'. 3. What is to be done are not prearranged, preplanned or rehearsed. 4. All the things are done as required, to the stages or levels of completion/conclusion necessary or as desired. (To emphasize.) 5. Time or duration that it takes to do all is appropriate. 6. No unplanned loss is suffered as a result of doing too many things at the same time. 7. There is a gain in or from the situation. 8. Ability serves purpose(s). ___________________ 'SUPERHERO'. One nice way to quiet the chatter in your head is to give your whole focus to an everyday task. While doing the laundry, just do the laundry: Listen to the sound of the water as it fills the washing machine, notice the smell of the detergent, feel the clothes in your hand, make it a very casual moving meditation. It doesn't take up any more time than it would when done with your mind darting every which way or your phone pressed to your ear-you don't have to move in slow motion. But intentional awareness slows the mind, brings a feeling of calm, and allows insights to bubble up (one of which might be that it's really satisfying and enjoyable to focus on one thing at a time).
