Definition: (South African English, formal) The act of giving reasons for something that you have stated.

1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Reasons given will be accessible.

3. There will be a basis for reasons given. That is, the 'excuses' and/or 'ifs' can be examined or scrutinized for correctness, relevance, validity, etc.

4. Reasons will be understandable or understood.

5. Statement will be conclusive or concluded. That is, no room for further 'explanation' in another forum, presentation or paper!

6. Act serves purpose(s) or achieves goal(s).
