BALLOT BOX (1)

Definition: A box in which people put their ballots after voting.

1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Officially approved and earmarked for polling booth/unit, etc.

3. Confirmed and displayed as empty - no false bottom - before the beginning of voting, ... 'transparent' or not.

4. Placed or positioned properly and centrally.

5. Measurement will be appropriate for size of ballot paper and number of registered voters in polling station, unit, etc. That is, all the ballots will be able to enter box.

6. Safe, secured and protected while voting is on, with or without a lid, lock or cover. That is, will not be possible to be snatched or shifted or moved away from position without appropriate authorization.

7. Clean, neat and tidy, especially on its inside so that the ballots are not defaced or damaged after they have been cast.

8. Serves purpose(s). That is, ballots put into box will be handled properly - taken to the right collation centre(s) (where applicable), and counted correctly, and result allowed to stand, as necessary.
