(plural) Letters sent between two parties in which one makes an offer and the other accepts it (Scots law). ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary to write lengthy 'epistle' or to document information or facts officially. 2. Subject or topic is adequately treated. That is, no digression in what is written in letter. In other words, it cannot be summarized or shortened/abridged ..., yet concise! 3. No serious error or mistake, such as a misprint, misspelling, misrepresentation, etc. is contained in letter to cause a problem. That is, it will not ordinarily be misunderstood. 4. Delivered timely and read completely, whether or not it serves purpose(s) fully, or as exactly wished for (connect to #5). 5.
