| MISSING PERSON Definition: A person who has disappeared from their home and whose family are trying to find them with the help of the police. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Not abducted or kidnapped (to emphasize). 2. No note or clue(s) - not a ransom demand - is/are left on disappearance or departure. 3. Person is assumed to be in the right frame of mind at the time of leaving home. That is, a reason that can explain disappearance on self volition cannot be found. In other words, person has really unknowingly disappeared. 4. Preliminary or initial report, search, enquiries, etc. are made with friend(s), neighbour(s), colleague(s), etc. (And this continues afterwards.) 5. Reported early and timely to the police (to emphasize, see definition, connect to #3 & #4). 6. No remains will be found of person. That is, there will be no evidence of death (= corpse/grave/burial/ashes). 7. No closure will be brought to disappearance, especially by the family of 'the lost' (Connect to #4, #6.) 8. No contact is established, even as person wishes to get back home. 9.
