| MISGIVING (1) Definition: (usually plural) [ ~ about something/about doing something ] Feelings of doubt or anxiety about what might happen, or about whether or not something is the right thing to do. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful, even if discovered to be unnecessary in the end. 2. Basis or foundation of feeling exists but this is not definite. 3. An evidence that may be offered or a confirmation that may be provided is believed or treated as unconvincing. That is, so-called assurances are/were not enough or adequate. 4. Generally, feeling will not be fully, publicly or openly expressed or displayed, unless an authorization or a request for such is made. 5. Doubt or anxiety is given away by an act or action or inaction - not by a talk, speech, commentary, etc. 6. No penalty or sanction will be suffered as a direct result of the specific, identifiable but restrained feelings shown. 7. Lasts till doubt is confirmed or anxiety is cleared, whatever its outcome - loss or gain, negative or positive. 8. Feeling comes about from the individual's mind or conviction, not the result of brainwashing, cajoling, etc. (To emphasize.) 9.
