Quote: "Unsuccessful commanders issue orders and then return to their card games at headquarters. They believe the simple act of issuing an order will immediately cause everything to fall into place, and the battle will go their way just because they said so. They expect everything to go according to their plans. That is as unrealistic as it is stupid. A successful commander issues an order and then makes damn sure it's not only carried out but working as planned. If things go wrong, or a situation changes, the commander will be aware of it immediately and be able to change the orders in response. Don't just jump to conclusions and don't just make assumptions. Follow up on everything". - General George S. Patton.
