MERCY (1)

Definition: A kind or forgiving attitude towards somebody that you have the power to harm or right to punish.

1. Purposeful and necessary [see perfect PITY (1).]

2. Specific and identifiable, whether beneficiary is living or dead, considered deserving or undeserving (see perfect FORGIVENESS).

3. Measurable and/or assessable, full and unconditional [see perfect PUNISHMENT (1).]

4. Timely displayed or shown, early or quick, not slow or at the eleventh hour (see perfect EUTHANASIA).

5. Not offered under pressure/duress or shown in anticipation of a reward or gain [see perfect KINDNESS (1).]

6. Does not contradict a law or go against a rule or regulation, even if no penalty will be paid for 'indiscretion' [see perfect MISDIRECTION (3).]

7. Not rejected, or accepted and condemned, by beneficiary, even if true gratitude is not expressly expressed for it [see perfect THANK YOU (1).]

8. Not really expected, even if it was pleaded for or erroneously believed to be a 'right' (to emphasize) (see perfect ACQUITTAL).

9. Will never be regretted, by the merciful, even if an unplanned loss arises afterwards. That is, there will be a conviction that attitude is more noble than 'revenge', where possible [see perfect ATTITUDE (1).]
