| MEMBER OF CONGRESS Definition: A member of Congress is a person who has been elected to the United States Congress. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eleven elements should be in. 1. Has a purpose and considers membership necessary. 2. Election has been concluded - no pending suit in a court. 3. Victory at the polls was won squarely. That is, election that was conducted was free and fair, so transparently credible. 4. Has been sworn in as a duly elected member of the House or Senate. 5. Loyal throughout the period to the party and its manifesto, or to the principles under which he or she campaigned, if an Independent. 6. Maintains a link and communication with constituents all through. 7. Participates effectively in the deliberations, debates, sittings, voting, etc., at all times, except a valid reason exists otherwise. 8. Achieves goal(s) as desired, and serves purpose(s), as hoped for. 9. Plans to serve out a current term successfully, without blemish or being entangled in a political storm or scandal.
