| MEAT PACKING Definition: (North American English) The process of killing animals and preparing the meat for sale. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Selection is correct - healthy, owned/purchased and edible animals. 3. Choice of killing spots/areas is authorized or approved and rites, if any, are performed before commencement of process. 4. Killing method is humane (= effective and efficient) - does not cause the animals much undeserved pain or lasts for an unnecessarily long duration. 5. Cleaning, cutting, weighing, etc. of meat is done properly. 6. Labelling, display, presentation, etc. is concluded timely. 7.
