| MAWKISHNESS Definition: (disapproving) The quality of expressing or sharing emotion in a way that is exaggerated or embarrassing. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Emotion is truly experienced or had. 2. Expression is not a make-believe. That is, not deliberately exaggerated or made embarrassing. 3. A caution, warning, etc. that may be given to lessen extent will go unheeded. 4. No self-awareness exists in the situation. That is, the mawkish person will not be really aware of the quality being displayed. 5. Exaggeration or embarrassment will lead to a loss for the affected, in the long run. 6.
