| MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE Definition: A marriage that is made for practical, financial or political reasons and not because the two people love each other. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful (see definition, to emphasize), no 'faking'. 2. Considered a necessity in the opinion of both partners. 3. Purpose(s) of union is/are known from the very start. 4. The exact kind of benefits expected to be received by both spouses are specific and identifiable from the beginning. That is, the terms of the marriage are stated clearly, and/or documented, if necessary. 5. What is desired and/or hoped for is what is provided and received during the marriage. 6. Marriage is peaceful, relaxed, comfortable: relationship of convenience not a 'warring' one (connect to #4, #5 & #8). 7. Marriage lasts until purpose(s) can no longer be fulfilled. Or for as long as benefits expected are being received. 8. (Reserved.)
