| BACKLOG (1) Definition: A quantity of work that should have been done already, but has not yet been done. ______________________________________________________________________ * All twelve elements should be in. 1. Quantity is doable within the time allotted to complete task. 2. The reason(s) for arrears or pile up of work is/are genuine. 3. Some certain benefits will be obtained when work is finished. 4. Task(s) is/are official and authorized, whether germane or delegated. That is, what is outstanding is not of an unauthorized, unapproved or illicit nature. 5. Work cannot be passed on further or delegated to another person or group/organ or committee. 6. What needs to be done won't disappear or go away. That is, a situation or changed circumstances will not make doing the work to become irrelevant or unnecessary. 7. Quantity won't increase while waiting to be attended to. 8. Nature of efforts required will not make work to be a no-brainer. That is, labour (energy), reasoning (brain), etc. will be involved in accomplishing task. 9. The wherewithal to execute assignment will be available. 10. (Reserved.) (Some loss, disadvantage, etc. was suffered or incurred as a direct result of having left work undone. And this loss will become increasingly more devastating with work remaining undone.) 11. Performing task(s) will not result in an unplanned loss, serious exhaustion, etc. especially because of limitations that have arisen from delay or procrastination, incompetence or oversight, etc. 12.
