| LOSER (1) Definition: A person who is defeated in a competition. ______________________________________________________________________ * Only one element ! 1. The winner/victor won fairly and squarely. ______________________ a. Person who failed put in best efforts all through. b. Winner was not on performance-enhancing drugs, etc. or assisted illegally or unethically. c. Winner did not escape punishment for the infringement of a rule. d. Equipment, facilities, etc. used were not tampered with to confer an advantage on victorious party. That is, competition held on a level-playing field. e. Person that lost did not react badly to taunts, boos, etc., if any. f. Accepted loss gracefully. That is, congratulated the winner. In other words, person was/is not a bad loser. g. Person did not have a complaint or an excuse. And did not grumble, especially in his or her privacy. h. Believes, after loss, that he/she can win some other day. i. Goes back or returns to the drawing board; continues training with a new or different approach, increases or improves practice methods and times, hires a new coach, etc., etc. j. Gallant; person has no shame and suffers no discomfort for losing. That is, not 'sore' or ranting!
