| BACK-SEAT DRIVER (1) Definition: A passenger in a vehicle who keeps giving advice to the driver about how he or she should drive. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Has a purpose and considers it necessary to constantly advice. 2. Gives advice at the right time, before a particular action is taken by the driver. 3. Gives the right and/or a reasonable advice. That is, suggestions or options provided for the driver will be sensible. 4. Cannot be asked to get off the vehicle or car (or train!). 5. Cannot be told to maintain 'the peace' or keep his/her mouth shut. And/or will not be silenced, if 'ordered' to be quiet. 6. Will not commend or appreciate any good handling of vehicle, that will be done by the 'careless' driver. (To emphasize, connect to #8.) 7. Must never attempt to physically touch driver's hand(s) or leg(s) or practically demonstrate how he or she wants a thing done, especially while vehicle is in motion. That is, 'gestures', if any, do not affect the driver! 8. Will be able to take vehicle - and passenger(s) - safely to destination, if handled the steering wheel to continue the drive. 9. His or her advice will be noted (and taken or used - soon after or much later, if necessary), even if driver does not initially admit this. ________________________________ still, always an ANNOYANCE. | |
