| LIVE WIRE (2) Definition: (informal) If you describe someone as a live wire, you mean that they are lively and energetic. ______________________________________________________________________ * Description will be apt, only if all seven elements are present. 1. Liveliness and energetic behaviour (= enthusiasm) will be displayed in the midst of others: like supercharged. 2. Enthusiasm was not brought about by the effect of an illegal substance that had been swallowed or applied: life-affirming. 3. Arrival of person will be looked forwards to, his or her presence much cherished, impending departure disheartening: like a lynchpin. 4. State will be sustained for duration desired, whatever activities - legal or illegal - the person may be engaged in, alone or together with some others who voluntarily join him or her: a lifeline. 5. No other person can effectively take the place of or stand in for the particularly lively and energetic person: like irreplaceable. 6. Lively and energetic person will not become 'useless' after the end of the activity involved in. That is, he or she will still have some oomph to do some other vital things, if necessary. In other words, there will be no lassitude in the situation: the fountain. 7. Person will not, as a direct result of quality, seek to dominate or monopolize a group or team activity, or take the lion's share of what belongs to all.
