| LITMUS TEST (1) Definitions: i. A way of deciding whether something is successful or true. ii. If you say that something is a litmus test of something, you mean that it is an effective and definite way of proving it or measuring it. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Way or measure will be specific and identifiable, be this/these theoretical and/or practical. 2. Decision will be based on measurable and assessable, 'survivable' yardsticks, without outcome resulting in a stigmatization, being ostracized or establishing limitations. 3. There will be some unchangeable feature(s) or ingredient(s) that constitutes accomplishment (success) or confirms veracity (truth). And this/these will be known by who is deciding, proving or measuring. 4. Conditions against which thing will be tested will be consistent and extreme. That is, every likely scenario will be considered before conclusion is made as to correctness or appropriateness. 5. No danger or risk will be posed to what is being used to confirm status or position. That is, nothing will be unnecessarily destroyed or damaged in the process of carrying out 'experiment'. 6. Way achieves goal(s) or serves purpose(s), whatever the outcome - failed (= lie, disproved, etc.) or passed (= true, endorsed, etc.). ___________________ "CUT AND DRIED". | |
