| LITERACY Definition: The ability to read and write. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. What is read will be clearly audible, without an error, a mispronunciation, etc., however long it takes to complete reading. 3. What is written will be unmistakably legible, without a misspelling, misrepresentation, etc., however and in whatever language or form. 4. An understanding is obtained of the reading and writing. That is, ability is whole; full and developed. In other words, reader and writer can make sense or meaning of whatever comes out of his or her thought process and lettering action. 5.
