LECTURE (1)

Definition: [ ~ (to somebody) (on/about something) ] A talk that is given to a group of people to teach them about a particular subject, often as part of a university or college course.

1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Relevant and authorized subject (= topic), listed in the syllabus.

3. Venue or location is conducive for teaching and learning.

4. The talk was prepared and well-researched by presenter/lecturer.

5. Audience is attentive and interesting, and participates appropriately, where required.

6. Talk is understandable and can be appreciated, however presented or delivered (to emphasize).

7. Duration that talk lasts does not make learning become a bore.

8. Will be complete and/or completed, especially if a demonstration and/or practicals is involved - even if it has to be continued in another session, some other day.

9. (Reserved.) (Has room for taking notes, question time, etc. and will therefore not need to be repeated to the same set of students again, except officially directed by the authority.)

10. Serves purpose(s) - knowledge and education - whether the students are tested on topic or not.
