| LEARNING DISABILITY Definition: A mental problem that people may have from birth, or that may be caused by illness or injury, that affects their ability to learn things. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements would be in. 1. Recognized early by the parents, professionals, etc. 2. Can be appropriately managed. That is, learning is still possible only that it will be laborious, slow, limited, etc. 3. Appreciated by others. That is, difficulty or inability causes no additional unplanned loss for sufferer. In other words, no punishment, sanction, etc. will be meted out to person with disability. 4. Does not get worse and lead to a serious physical problem in the course of teaching and/or learning, be illness curable or incurable. 5. (Reserved.)
