Learning curve
LEARNING CURVE

Definitions:

i. The rate at which you learn a new subject or a new skill; the process of learning from the mistakes you make.

ii. (informal) A period when the new occupant of an office is expected to understudy and then understand, or be accustomed to, what the post entails.

1. 'Curve' (period) is identifiable and specific. That is, it has a beginning and an end; a start and a finish point.

2. What is being studied is measurable and/or assessable.

1. Full confidence is understandably absent at the beginning, though utterances or actions of learner may be misinterpreted by others, as a mark of assuredness.

2. Early efforts by the learner, during the period, will be geared towards trying to impress (connect to #1 below the line).

3. Learner is 'informed', yet in the real sense, uninformed.

MISTAKE NUMBER 1 - PERMITTED.

8. Reality dawns or a realization starts to set in. That is error (s) and mistake(s) have (now) been discovered by our 'learner on the curve'.

9. Hard lessons have been learned: 'lectures' are over; 'curve' is now transforming into a 'straight line'.
