| LEAN MANUFACTURING Definition: (business) Lean manufacturing is a manufacturing method which aims to reduce wastage, for example by keeping stocks low and by working more flexibly. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for manufacturer to reduce waste. 2. Methods will not result in a labour or industrial dispute, such that losses will be suffered by manufacturer in the long run. 3. Quality will not decline as a consequence of method adopted. 4. Equipment and labour will not suffer a lack of maintenance or lay-off or reduction or freeze in incomes as a direct fallout of method. 5. Achieves goal(s).
