| LEAKER Definition: (journalism) A leaker is someone who lets people know secret information. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Would have been told or is aware of the need to not disclose info. And person is not an enemy who eavesdropped or stumbled on the secret. 2. Has some purpose to achieve and considers revelation a necessity. 3. Will expect or demand for something before talking (connect to #2), whether or not he or she gets the (a) thing prior or in the end. 4. Normally requests or insists, foolishly, that 'secret' should not be passed on to another. Or that he or she should not be mentioned, as the leak source, if information has to be told to a 'fourth party'. 5. 'Loudmouth' adds or subtracts nothing from what he/she will tell. 6. Quickly, 'strenuously' denies, then may 'reluctantly' and shamefacedly admit, when asked or if confronted with the evidence of he or she being the source of the leak. (To emphasize, connect to #7.) 7. Suffers a loss, or will be ostracized for sometimes, or gets sanctioned, etc. for being the direct cause of a let-down. ___________ Shhh .... | |
