Leadership blunders
LEADERSHIP BLUNDERS

Definition: (informal) The avoidable mistakes and/or errors made while in the process, or in the position, of leading men etc.

1. Lack of confidence (the leader's self-confidence).

2. Lack of focus (absence of leader's personal desire).

3. Absence of a road map, by or for the leader to achieve goal(s); that is, no direction (connect to #2).

4. Non-empowerment of others in the group or inability to delegate responsibilities.

5. Neglecting others in the group, whether subordinates or peers. For instance, not rewarding hard work and not sanctioning failures. And not caring for the others; they have feelings and emotions too, remember ?!

6. Not able to handle criticism.

7. The know-it-all.

8. Being afraid of change.

9. Exhibiting laziness.

10. Playing God or acting as the infallible Big Boss.

11. Lack of motivation - on the part of the leader (connect to #9).

12. A false belief in his/her indispensability (connect to #4, #7, #10).
