| LEAD (1) Definition: (usually - the lead) The position ahead of everyone else in a race or competition. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Acclaimed leader is eligible or qualified to participate in the race or competition. 2. Measurable and/or assessable. And not too small; promising, even if it can't be increased. * Not slender. 3. The other competitor(s) is/are putting in his/her/their maximum efforts - not misleading. 4. Position can be protected or is sustainable for the period of time that leader will desire. That is, first position can be deliberately allowed to be overtaken, if necessary. * Not narrow. 5. Position was not attained illegally, by cheating or on the performance of an untoward activity, that should have been, but was not penalized. That is, lead could be fortuitous or orchestrated. 6. Person or thing in position will be involved to the end. That is, there will be no pulling out of race before the end or finishing line. * Not slim. 7. (Reserved.) (Victory earned in the end will not be upturned for an offence that would be discovered after all the efforts made.) 8.
