Law of refraction
LAW OF REFRACTION

Definition: An empirical law in optics stating that when a ray of light is refracted at the interface of two isotropic media the ratio of the sine of the angle of incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction is equal to the refractive index and the refracted ray lies in the plane determined by the incident ray and the normal to the surface at the point of incidence.
