Law of motion
LAW OF MOTION

Definition: One of three statements in classical physics. The first, which is due to Galileo and is called the principle of inertia or Newton's first law, states that the velocity of a body is a constant in the absence of external forces. The second, which is due to Newton and is called Newton's second law or Newton's law of motion, states the definition of force. The third, which is also due to Newton, states that when two bodies interact the force exerted by the first on the second is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the force exerted by the second on the first.
